PE

Indoor P.E – Wednesday afternoons.

Outdoor P.E – Thursday afternoons. We advise that children bring tracksuit bottoms and a sweatshirt whilst the weather is still unpredictable.

A number of children are missing out on PE opportunities because they do not have their kit. Please remind your child to leave it in school for the half term so that it is available when needed.

Reading Books

School reading books need to be in school each day and are taken home each day.

There will be no set day for changing reading books. They will be changed as soon as a book is completed. Please sign your child’s reading record book to show when they have read and when a book is completed.

How can parents help?

By getting children involved in shopping and cooking; looking at measures of weight and capacity, reading scales and measuring ingredients accurately. Talk about the differences between different units of measure e.g. millilitres and litres.

By the end of year 4, the objective is for all children to know their times tables up to 12x12 so any support you can provide with recalling times tables would be appreciated.

Encourage your child to take as much pride in their homework presentation as their presentation in school books.
