P.E. day is on a Thursday.  Please ensure your child has suitable P.E. kit for both inside and outside including jogging bottoms, a jumper and trainers.  Pumps are needed for the hall.

In addition to the Thursday P.E. lesson, all children will complete a ‘daily mile’.  This will involve them running/walking a mile of the playground every day.

Reading Books

Children will develop their reading skills once a week with the class teacher as part of a guided reading group.  In addition to this, children are expected to read independently at home at least three times a week.  This could be a book from home or a book from the school library.  Please could you sign their Home Reading Records each time they read with a small comment that you or your child can write. Children can use the school library on a Monday, Thursday and Friday lunchtime.

How can parents help?

This half term we will also be sending some homework where the children will be asked to do a task over 2/3 weeks. This task will be to develop or extend their learning in the wider curriculum, e.g. geography or art.

Please listen to your child read at least three times a week or talk to your child about what they have read.  Children can pick a reading book from school, home or the library.

Please encourage your child to access ‘Times tables rock stars’ to practise their times tables as often as possible.  The children have been enjoying this in school and are always excited to see who has made the most progress improving their speed!

Please make sure homework is in on time and children have a clean and complete P.E. kit in school.

Thank you for your continued support.
