In addition to the Thursday P.E. lesson, all children will complete a ‘daily mile’.  This will involve them running/walking a mile of the playground every day.

Reading Books

Children will develop their reading skills once a week with the class teacher as part of a guided reading group.  In addition to this, children are expected to read independently at home at least three times a week.  This could be a book from home or a book from the school library.  Please could you sign their Home Reading Records each time they read with a small comment that you or your child can write. How can parents help?

This half term we will also be sending some homework where the children will be asked to do a task over 2/3 weeks. This task will be to develop or extend their learning in the wider curriculum, e.g. geography or art.

Please listen to your child read at least three times a week or talk to your child about what they have read.  Children can pick a reading book from school, home or the library.

Learning all the times table facts should also be ongoing with children becoming quicker with their mental recall.

Please make sure homework is in on time and children have a clean and complete P.E. kit in school.

If you have any ‘Save our Greenbelt’ leaflets or information (for Chadderton), could you please send them in to school to help with our persuasive writing topic.  Thank you.

Thank you for your continued support.
