General Information / Upcoming Events

Happy New Year! We hope you all had a lovely break over the Christmas holidays. We are looking forward to knuckling down this term and working our socks off with all the interesting work we have planned this half term! We have a visit from the Planetarium and a Road Safety workshop to look forward to this half term. Thank you again for all your support in the last half term. We are continuing to follow the St Matthew’s CARES values: Cooperate, Aspire, Respect, Encourage and Strive.

PE

P.E. days are Tuesday and Thursday. Tuesday is outdoor P.E. and we will strive to take the children outside whenever we can (weather dependant). Please ensure your child has suitable P.E. kit for outside including jogging bottoms, a jumper and trainers. Pumps are needed for the hall.

How can parents help?

Please listen to your child read at least three times a week or talk to your child about what they have read. Children can pick a reading book from school, home or the library.

Learning all the time table facts should also be ongoing with children becoming quicker with their mental recall.

Please make sure homework is in on time and children have a clean and complete P.E. kit in school.
