General Information / Upcoming Events

  1. can’t believe it is the last half term already. Your children have grown up so much this year and are ready for the challenges and demands of year 6.

Sports day is coming up and fingers crossed the weather stays fine so that everyone can enjoy the different activities and have fun.

5RM have already enjoyed their team building day at Castleshaw (despite the weather) and 5JM are looking forward to theirs on 27th June.

We also have the year 6 play, Oliver! to look forward to and we have an extra treat of visiting Radclyffe to watch their production of Oliver! too.

Thank you for all your support this year and we will be sad to wave our classes goodbye in six weeks time!

PE

P.E. days have changed for this half term and will be on Tuesday and Thursday. The outdoor P.E. and will take place on either day depending on the weather. Please ensure your child has suitable P.E. kit for outside including jogging bottoms, a jumper and trainers. Pumps are needed for the hall.

Reading Books

Children will read once a week with the class teacher as part of a guided reading group.

In addition to this children are expected to read independently at home at least three times a week. This could be a book from home or a book from the class shelf.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD READS REGULARLY AT HOME!

How can parents help?

Please listen to your child read at least three times a week or talk to your child about what they have read. Children can pick a reading book from school, home or the library.

Learning all the time table facts should also be ongoing with children becoming quicker with their mental recall.

Please make sure homework is in on time and children have a clean and complete P.E. kit in school.

Please remember to follow us on Twitter and find out all the wonderful things we do in school!
