Our School hours do differ slightly on each site...

 

School opens                                        8.40 a.m

 

School begins                                       8.50 a.m

 

Morning Playtime Infants                      10.45-11 a.m

 

Morning Playtime Juniors                     10.45-11 a.m

 

Lunchtime Infants                                 12.00- 1 p.m 

       

Lunchtime Juniors                                12.00- 1 p.m.

 

End of School Infants                            3 .10 p.m

 

End of School Juniors                           3.15 p.m

 

 

At St. Matthew's we aim to offer a Creative Curriculum and as such the lines between subject areas can appear blurred as we seek to engage the children by emersing them in a particular topic or theme.

 

A Typical School Day (In Key Stage 1)


- Bell goes 8.40 a.m.

- Children arrive between 8.40 and 8.50 a.m.

- Registration between 8.50 and 9 a.m.

 

- Assembly 9 a.m.

- Numeracy or Literacy

- Milk and fruit

- Break at 10.45 a.m.

- Numeracy or Literacy

- Lunchtime begins at 12.00 noon

- Registration at 1 p.m.

- Afternoon session could include Science, Art, Geography, History, P.E., Design and Technology, R.E., Music or ICT. Story / Show and Tell / Aerobics

- 3.10 school ends.

- Bell goes 8.40 a.m.

- Children arrive between 8.40 and 8.50 a.m.

- Registration between 8.50 and 9 a.m.

 

-Assembly at 9 am

 

- Numeracy or Literacy

 

- Break at 10.45

- Numeracy or Literacy

- Lunchtime begins at 12.00 noon

- Registration at 1.00 p.m

- Afternoon session could include Science, Art, Geography, History, P.E., Design and Technology, R.E., Music , French or ICT.

 

- 3.15 p.m. school end
