Headteacher's Welcome Message

Welcome to St Matthew’s CofE Primary School. Here, everyone is committed to our school aims of ‘Excellence, Happiness and Achievement’ by providing a caring, stimulating and vibrant environment, in which all our children can flourish.

In Christian and public service, the team here makes sure every child, every family is cared for. We are here to support and also to challenge every learner to develop, succeed, building solid citizenship values and independent resilience to make the greatest possible contribution to God’s World.

Our school is large and we work hard to know every child as an individual. Each child’s skills, interests and talents are equally valued and staff are dedicated to meeting their individual needs through the pursuit of the highest standard of care, teaching and curriculum provision.

We believe in working with parents as key partners in the learning journey. This is YOUR school – our privilege to serve in it. We are a church school and, together in firm partnership with St Matthew’s Church, we nurture the children in Christian values. As such, we are driven by inclusion and equality. Everyone is welcome here, everyone is equal. Different perspectives are brought together and all are invited access to Christian values and worship whilst sharing such perspectives with children and adults of all faiths or of no faith at all. All families, in their many glorious forms, are loved and served in the Christian faith, equally, at St Matthew’s.

As part of our commitment to enriching and broadening the education of our children, we offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities including dance, choir, sports clubs and gardening to name but a few. We are lucky enough to have an excellent before and after-school care provision on site.

We aim to produce mature, independent children that are achieving to the very best of their ability. We hope that our children will love the time they are with us and have many fantastic memories of St Matthew’s CofE Primary School.

If you are looking for a school in Chadderton, please contact us for a look round and see for yourselves what a happy and successful learning community we are.
