Forever Angels Charity

Forever Angels Charity

As part of our commitment to global citizenship and our Christian ethos beyond our immediate community, St Matthew’s is proud to be linked with the Forever Angels project in Tanzania.  Below is a little bit about the charity and the work we support with our fundraising efforts here at St Matthew’s.

It started while Amy, the driving force behind the project, was living in Tanzania and came across four dying babies in a hospital closet. She was told they were dying of AIDS, but what was clear was that they were actually dying from starvation and neglect. She knew she had to do something to help.

She started Forever Angels Baby Home which has cared for over 300 babies - reuniting 145 with relatives, and finding adoptive families for 72.

Over the years, she came to realise that many of the families we support want to care for their own children at home, they just don’t have the financial capacity to do it. Maisha Matters was born as a way to prevent child abandonment and keep babies with their families.

Mrs Madden, a former teacher and forever friend of St Matthew’s, makes regular visits to Tanzania and works with us in school to show us how the Christian generosity of our community is impacting massively on the lives of children and families in Tanzania, in support of the wonderful work of the Forever Angels Project.  We hope that you enjoy some of the videos and examples of fundraising work you will come across in this section of the website and join us in prayer as we seek to help others who are equal to us as fellow humans and yet who’s start in life is so very different to that which we may have experienced ourselves.

In faith and partnership,

Mr Buxton-Moore
